The aftermath of Hurricane Florence is extensive and devastating especially with the amount of flooding that happened. But it’s not just Hurricane’s that cause flooding. Did you know that just 1 inch of water inside your home can cause up to $25,000 in damage? And it’s not just in areas directly impacted by storms. All it takes is a typical Florida rainstorm to flood roads and ultimately houses.

The definition of a flood is rising groundwater impacting 2 or more acres or at least 3 homes or buildings. All of Florida is considered a flood zone with some properties in higher risk areas than others. Nearly 30% of all filed claims occur in low-risk areas.

An average flood policy, which includes the dwelling and contents, is approximately $450 annually. There is a standard 30 day wait period unless the coverage is required by your lender.

Protecting your home from a flood is just as important as protecting your home from fire or theft.  Please contact our office for a flood coverage quote at 844-631-4901 or gcarwile@primegroupins.com.
