Employee Spotlight: Meet Juliana

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We recently sat down with Juliana, a vibrant team member here at PGI, to learn more about her journey, what she loves about Florida, and the lessons she’s picked up along the way. Here’s what she had to say:

Q: What originally drew you to PGI?

Juliana:
When I first graduated with my finance degree, I was in the thick of that whirlwind many recent grads know—applying to jobs, interviewing nonstop, and trying to figure out where I belonged. I had met Brett Scafidi, Shelby Luke, and Andrew Aubery at the USF Career Fair, and my interview with PGI really stood out.

What struck me most was that PGI genuinely cares—not just about performance, but about people as whole individuals. The team dynamic and culture here truly support you, whether you’re thriving or just trying to find your footing. That holistic approach really aligned with my values.

Another big reason PGI resonated with me is because of my passion for serving underserved communities, especially in housing. PGI felt like a place where I could grow professionally and personally, without compromising who I am.

Q: What do you love most about living in Florida?

Juliana:
The nature here is incredible. From stunning beaches and crystal-clear springs to beautiful parks, there’s always a place to unwind and recharge. Florida moves fast, but the abundance of outdoor spaces helps you slow down and be present. Plus, there’s never a shortage of things to do!

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned in your role that you carry into everyday life?

Juliana:
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the power of real, intentional communication. It’s more than just speaking clearly—it’s about listening, understanding where someone is coming from, and turning that into meaningful action.

Whether it’s figuring out someone’s preferred way of communicating or breaking down a complex topic into something approachable, these skills are incredibly useful—both in the workplace and in life. Meeting people where they are is a mindset that’s appreciated more than you’d think.

Q: Tell us two fun facts about you!

Juliana:
I’m always singing—whether it’s in the car, at karaoke (yes, even solo!), or just around the house. It’s my favorite hobby. I also love painting pottery. I’ve made dozens of little trinket bowls and plates, and each one adds a handmade pop to my space.

And if those two hobbies ever overlap? Even better—I’m a huge concert-goer. If someone I listen to is in town, you can count on me being there.

We loved getting to know Juliana better and are proud to have her on the PGI team. Stay tuned for more employee spotlights!
