To the Ryan Nece Foundation, the Power of Giving is about helping every man, woman and child realize their potential to better the world in which they live, work and play. Through sharing of time, treasure or talent every person has the opportunity to make a positive impact on the world.
Through the Power of Giving Student Service Program the foundation strives to empower the next generation of community leaders to discover and develop their passion for lifelong community service and philanthropy. It is a two-year youth leadership development program aimed at introducing teens to the social issues facing our Tampa Bay community. The high school juniors and seniors selected for the program complete a teacher facilitated leadership curriculum, experience high impact volunteerism through monthly community service projects, and plan and organize quarterly community outreach events. A capstone service learning trip to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation school and health clinic in the Dominican Republic provides a global perspective to the lack of access to clean drinking water, health care and education. Our future community leaders experience the Power of Giving in a variety of ways that encourages each student to share Ryan Nece’s strongly held belief to “do what you can whenever you can to make a positive impact on the lives of others.”
