Hurricane Season: After the Storm

What do you do AFTER a Hurricane has passed? First, know that we are here for you. Following are some thoughts that will help you in the upcoming days:
Try to be patient. With thousands and thousands of claims being filed, it is going to take days before you may be contacted, and weeks to get claims filed.
-Our companies have told us the quickest way to get your claim started is for you to file it directly with your homeowner company. They have specialist that know the exact information needed as each claim varies. Our website will have a list of all of our insurance carriers and their claims numbers: www.primegroupins.com. They will get the claim started immediately. Two ways to get your claim started is to: 1. Call their 800#, or 2. File on their website if available.
-DO NOT sign any forms with anyone for anything before talking with your company claim adjuster. You may sign away all of your benefits to a scammer who will then get the check from your insurance company and never do the work!
-Claims will be handled by the severity of damage.
-Remember you have a separate Hurricane Deductible (this can be found on your declaration page).
Take pictures of the damage and save all receipts for any purchases you need to make. Refrain from making permanent repairs until an adjuster has had a chance to assess the damage.
-If you have damage to your home from rising water, this is covered only under a separate Flood Insurance Policy.
If you have a question whether or not you have a claim file the claim and let the insurance company make the decision.
Please know that we certainly understand the challenges, issues, and frustrations that you are going through, and we will help you in any way possible
